Dr. Thant Myint U Is Great and answered all the questions correctly I think.. We have to respect to the person who knew, studied and learnt about our home land and he received PHD from Cambridge /UK / England therefore I would say I am very proud of him and he studied very highly and educated person . Ofcourse He knew about our country Burma & also he knew all our neighbor countries... Thanks a lot for explanations about everything to day...to be honest I didn't know that much about our politics, countries and more.. Working, Working, and life goes on....May God Bless him and his family as well...BTW I was in SF/ CA 1994 to 2006 & I moved to Illinois State since 2006 and End it up here until to day....

I find Thant Myint-U's presentation gives an excellent view to the complexities of Burma and the challenges the country is facing. He stresses the importance of economic development which is also a recommendation in Kofi Annan's report on Rohingya. This, in combination with the many ideas the young generation has, will be a great help for the country, if funding is available. People visiting the country will not only get a first-hand experience of the hospitality, warmth and gratefulness of the people, but will also be able to experience private initiatives in areas, like education, health, conservation and more, helping the country to move forward.

No doubt that British did a lot of harms but Burman Nationalism has existed since the days of King Anawratha which can been seen from treatments of other smaller neighboring tribes such as Karen.

A little biased to refer to the migrating Indians during Britis Tile as poor. Typical Burnese mindset.
Indians from all walks of life went to Burma. Professors, Government /Civil servants as part of British Administrative service, merchants, businessmen shop keepers, traders, money lenders, entrepreneurials, laborers, farmers, etc.
