Nissan's new QASHQAI N-TEC edition combines enhanced design details with Nissan's advanced ProPILOT driver assist, Intelligent Parking Assist automated parking feature and NissanConnect infotainment system to meet both the aesthetic and technological needs of crossover customers.
QASHQAI N-TEC has a striking new look thanks to all-black 19-inch alloy wheels and details including darkened headlamps, darkened front grille treatment and glossy black mirror caps. The black-themed upgrade continues inside with PVC/Alcantara®-trimmed seats, soft touch materials and glossy black air-vents. With such an eye-catching style on QASHQAI N-TEC, Nissan upgrades its pioneering crossover.
QASHQAI N-TEC is equipped with the advanced ProPILOT system and Intelligent Park Assist, usually only available on the range-topping grades. To further help drivers enjoy their drive, the QASHQAI N-TEC features the NissanConnect infotainment system, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to ensure effortless connection to digital life.
Nissan customers will enjoy a crossover that offers the best of Nissan's technology that supports them and reduces the stress of their daily drive with the advanced ProPILOT system. ProPILOT, oversees highway driving and helps to keep the QASHQAI in lane, regulates its speed, manages traffic jams and controls the distance to the vehicle ahead.
Intelligent Park Assist removes the stress of reverse parking, with advanced sensors identifying a suitable parking space and then performing the manoeuvre, with the driver simply regulating the speed, while monitoring the QASHQAI's Around-View Monitor – giving a bird's eye view of the car's immediate surroundings - on the touchscreen display.
NissanConnect brings the familiar experience of your smartphone via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing customers to use popular audio, navigation and messaging apps via the touchscreen and voice control to minimise distractions.
Customers want more technology
The introduction of the striking QASHQAI N-TEC with its advanced technology, continues the Nissan tradition of bringing the most useful, convenient technology to the mass-market. And as technology changes the automotive landscape, customer attitudes to technology on their car is evolving. The results of a recent Nissan survey(*) asking car customers how their purchase decisions have been influenced by the advent of so many new technologies shows that technology is becoming a more important factor in their buying decisions.
The research study of over 5,500 drivers across Europe has shown that design and technology are two of the key deciding factors when picking a car. While design continues to resonate with 94% of drivers, 79% of drivers believe that satellite navigation is the best innovation of recent years, closely followed by parking sensors (72%). Autonomous driving technology is described as the most useful (45%), alongside smart payment technology for tolls and parking (40%) and voice activation (38%). Drivers describe cruise control (53%), traffic sign recognition (45%) and touch screen in-car entertainment (41%) as "useful".
Speaking about Nissan's strategy towards technology, David Moss, Senior Vice President, Research and Development, Nissan Europe, said: "As a brand that has earnt a reputation for democratising technology and bringing innovation like Intelligent Parking Assist and Autonomous Driving Technology to the mass market first, Nissan is committed to learning which innovations consumers want in the future. Through understanding these needs, we can help move people to a better world thanks to new technology."
He concludes: "The QASHQAI N-TEC edition brings Nissan Intelligent Mobility innovations to a wider audience. It's a car that continues in the finest Nissan tradition by bringing together the very best of Nissan design and technology, and therefore upscaling the drive for QASHQAI customers."
