This is a Dakota fire pit with a difference, this is built to last using rocks to improve the stability and longevity.

I'm also using my One Tigris water bottle case for the first time.

Thanks for watching.

Steve.

A creative twist on the DFP. It's nice when we are able to build things that can last a while without the need to Leave No Trace. Another excellent film. Thank you!

It truly is a brilliant design, we've made one a few times and it has never ceased to amaze us at how well it works.
Cheers again my friend on a great video!

Very cool fire pit, great to have your own place, make something semi permanent, that should be there for years, very Nice, thanks for taking us along with you, cheers craig

if you had a Meerkats there, it would be so happy about great safety job you have done, multiple entrances lair, disinfected by burnout :) well done

Nicely done and a nice bed of coals there at the end.

Hi Steve,
I can see how effective the fire pit is but it is something I don't use often. I tend to use my firebox stove just for convenience as I am generally only in the woods for a day and a night.
Nice video as always.

A marvellous adaptation of a Dakota Fire Pit Steve. I really like using this method and may look to add the stone to my DFP in the local wood that I frequent most often :)

That's a really good fire pit one that's ideal for cooking just about anything on. You worked nicely on that, but I guess that for now I'll make do with my wood/gas stove since lugging spades around is totally out of the question...unless I can buy myself a nice little wood somewhere to set down in. Thanks for showing us how it's done Steve. Take care...

That looked awesome Steve. Been meaning to have a go at making one of these for years. I built an earthen oven last year. Cracked quiet a bit on drying and I only got a few uses out of it before it fell apart haha
Looked delicious mate. Nice bit of vegi bacon... I only eat meat and fish I harvest myself, so I eat ALOT of Quorn. Crackin video and a nice new bit of kit you've got there to.
Thanks,
Andy

Cracking video, nicely made. I have a similar pouch set up with the tatonka mug. Nice and compact.

That thing works a treat. I made a miniature once, very smokey. There seems to be a minimum size for firepits.. nice going.. great to have a bit of woodland to muck about in at you leisure...
