Umm... yeah... it's Also "Highly Improbable" that we get hit by a directed "Beam" of Gama Rays like the diagram shows, considering that the Earth is hit by Gama Rays "Daily" anyways .... so this is pretty much a moot point, as long as the Earth maintains it's atmoshere.
