Cotton is breathable but not warm. You can’t compare it to cashmere & merino - it’s apples & oranges. Furthermore, high-quality vintage cashmeres are slow to pill. It’s the thin, cheap cashmeres of today that pill right off.

They have the advantages you say, but they also take FOREVER to dry when wet.

One thing to look out for, that's a feature of many Sezane sweaters is when the buttonhole and button bands are reinforced with "sweater tape." This is a huge marker of quality and ensures that the bands won't sag over time and really will look like new for decades as well as hanging excellently well.

As a knitter, cotton is nice to make garments with. I do have issues with color fading, though. Cotton blends tend to do better.

My autism thanks you for teaching me how to shop by fabric… I’m no longer overstimulated by my clothes 😅

Way back in the day, Target would have cotton sweaters just like these styles and they'd last forever without pilling and super affordable to boot

I love cotton! So many synthetic fabrics out there I cant stand how they feel or fit. Cotton is where it’s at!

Ever since I found your channel I have been swapping out all my clothing for 100% cotton, wool, or cashmere.I am finding some of the most beautiful, comfortable, longlasting clothing I have ever found by following these rules at the thrift stores and I couldnt be happier! Its like a treasure hunt and now my husband wants me to swap out all his clothing🤣
Im literally wearing a thrifted cashmere sweater as I write this now😍thank you!!!

100% cotton and 100% cashmere are almost all I buy now. All thrifted!

Cotton doesn’t have the elasticity of an animal fiber, so you have to baby it to keep it from stretching out, especially when you wash it as it’s very heavy when wet and most vulnerable to stretching. Once it’s stretched, that’s how it will always be.

I have 2 turtlenecks from Kotn that have lasted really well for years. The pricing is really reasonable for the quality you get

Just bought a 100% cotton sweater - perks WAY cheaper than cashmere & it’s my first day wearing it and I love it. Super cozy on this chilly Fall day and looks super classy.

It's not worth it for me as it is not warm enough. If they're only meant to be worn during transitional periods, I might as well wear a thin merino wool.

Quality wool is very soft 🥰- not itchy. Try merino wool ❤, it’s the softest kind of wool and my favorite ❤❤❤❤

You can get good quality cotton sweaters for very reasonable prices. I love them. I have some from thrift stores, Gap etc.

I love cotton sweaters, but they totally shrink in the wash over time, even in cold. And cotton sweaters “lose their shape” in time too.

The itchyness of wool depends on the thickness of the fiber, not all sweaters are meant to be worn on the skin, if you get merino's wool, you're safer to say that it won't itch because the fibers are thinner then most wool types used

Gap also makes some great incredibly durable sweaters that a majority of the time are mostly cotton. I have a crap ton of them and they have held up strong.
