1) Soft Folding Truck Bed Cover
2) Hard Folding Truck Bed Cover
3) Hard Rolling Truck Bed Cover

Strongly recommend checking it out as well, it is an incredibly good value for a hard fold tonneau cover.

Let's kick off a brand new season with a question... What truck do you own right now? (or trucks if you have more than one!!)

I was convinced I wanted the second cover and kept trying to stash away extra money for one. After awhile I simply purchased the a model like the first one you installed in the video. It has been great. Never an issue, only leaks slightly in a high pressure car wash, never leaks in rainy situations at all. When I want full use of my bed it just comes off in like 5 minutes. One day I did an unplanned furniture purchase. Took off the cover behind the furniture store, put the two piece sectional inside, threw the folded cover in the back, and strapped everything down. So simple, flexible and easy. I would totally do the first option again and again knowing I never leave any valuables in the bed anyway.

I purchased the retractable cover for my F250. Having used it for a few years now, I’ve decided I’m going with option 2 (hard/fold) for my incoming pickup. The retractable version ended up being impractical, heavier, and took up too much bed space. Option 2 makes the most sense, especially with the ability to fold it all the way up while driving. Great review btw, you helped me firm up the decision.

I agree with you 2ND bed cover is the better choice, thanks for sharing this 🤜🏼🤛🏼

I don’t understand all the complaints when the cover is all the way open and blocks the rear window. Like guys, if you need that much space, chances are that the cargo is blocking your view anyways.

This video is worth so much more than a thumbs up and subscribe.

The $250 Gator trifold soft cover has been on my 2017 F250 for 3 years. It's been a great product and value

I have the 2nd cover on my Chevy Colorado. Use it constantly and it works like a charm. I can choose not to latch the last section or mid and last for bulky loads. Since you need access to the release cords once the tailgate is locked it's secure and out of sight gives peace of mind. Thanks for the review.

If not the best how to one of the best how to videos I have viewed on YouTube. Also an unbiased evaluation of the products . I ended up with an SFX since I do not want a full time cover. Saved me money and installation time getting a product I can take off when not required which is my situation most of the time. I am a supporting subscriber of Truck Central.

I've had a couple Truxedo soft roll up covers, never had any issues. I like the roll up kind because you always have easy access to the whole bed.

The gator FX looks like the best of the 3. You can fold it all the way and you don’t sacrifice any space, great in depth review of the 3 options!!!!

Thank you for you views on these tonneau covers. I'v been wrecking my brain on which one to get and with your help I have chosen the FX model. I think that will be my best option for daily use. i wish you had an active discount code lol.

Thanks for this review. It has made my decision a lot easier for which one I want installed on my truck. Definitely going with the 2nd option. I love how sleek it looks and still allows me to have bed rails installed. 😊

Thanks for the details. I had a low end soft cover that lasted about 4yrs until it blew off while driving high speed on a highway...yea, that happened. Fortunately, no one or thing was hurt. Now finding the "better" products on the market today are making it challenging to be satisfied due to a lack of them being 'simple'. Also, finding deck rail systems from the truck manufacturer are playing into the install and functionality of these current covers. May just stay with a cheap cover again. Easy install, full use of the stock deck rail, and easy to remove when needing the full bed....

I've had varies covers for different trucks. I had a snap on cover for my Dodge Ram. That one was nice because it was easily removable. But in the winter months you had to take it off or on, I had to put it in the sun so it would stretch to snap it back on.

My 2nd cover was a roll top cover I had on my 2011 Silverado. It also was easy to take on and off (open and close). But I had issues with it leaking.

My 3rd cover I love the best, I bought a Diamond Back cover for my 2016 Silverado and this thing is tough. It's the most expensive but no leaks, and it's indestructible. It comes in 3 pieces, and it's held on with 4 clamps. There is video's out there that this cover is nearly impossible to break into. The HD Edition can hold up to 2500 lbs on top and you can still open your tailgate.

Great video guys. I've ordered from Real Truck before, and they are amazing.

The middle one is a backflip knock off. Nice cover. Those are the only ones I use.

This was a very well done video. Thank you for the work you both did in putting the different covers on and back off so you could review them all in succession. Great information.

Thank you for the video! I appreciate the well explained intro of each model 👍 !

My comment to the manufacturer:
1. The basic version can have a better folding design, instead of the existing tri-fold design make it a Z-fold design so the inside/under side of the cover never face against the outer/upper side collecting dust...
2. The middle MX model, instead of the two clearly visible "manual" rods to prop the cover open, they can be relocated to the end of the cover (behind the rear window) so the mechanisms (rods & secure screws) are less visible.
3. The most expensive version, for the price, the design could at the least also include a self retraction (i.e. spring loaded like a roll-up window blind and cab stop at any position etc.) function so make it more worthy of $2k.
Sincerely.
