I Think everyone is unfortunately replying to the title of an article that links to this video. It was titled "This Is How Your Stomach Reacts When You Eat At McDonald's... It's Worse Than You Thought", a very misleading title that demonstrates the authors ignorance.

Before you comment, here's the lowdown:
1. This video didn't intend to false advertise, it was just stuffing a cheeseburger in HCl and did just that
2. It's the sensational media sites that use this as healthy eating propoganda
3. Everyone agrees that we need to see a free range homemade burger for comparison before we slam fast food
4. But according to other posters, any food in HCl turns to black sludge

I honestly don't understand why everyone thinks they are trying to "prove" something. Like, all they're doing is showing a cheeseburger in hydrochloric acid. You guys probably came here because this video went viral, and the posters on Facebook said "omg this is why mcdonalds is bad for you."

Reminds me of an interesting story! In college, a chemistry professor told me of a woman who had been swindled by some con men into thinking her stomach produced insufficient acid. The con men bought gallons of muriatic acid (which his HCl, which is sold over the counter in places like Lowe's) and sold it to her to drink. Can you imagine chugging HCl like your life depended on it? Unsurprisingly, the woman allegedly was hospitalized for esophageal wear.
