International Conducting Masterclass

In June 2022, 8 individuals in the early stages of their conducting career travelled from all over the world to Belfast, meeting mentors Jac van Steen and Kenneth Woods to undertake a conducting masterclass with the Ulster Orchestra (in cooperation with Cardiff International Academy of Conducting). Over an intensive 4 day period, participants developed their skills while working with the orchestra and mezzo soprano Sarah Richmond. Practising repertoire by Schumann, Mahler and David Matthews, the conductors then demonstrated their progress in concert for Ulster Orchestra subscribers on the final day of the course.
