DualSense + GuliKit TMR Joystick – An Update

This is an update to my video “A New Champion Has Been Crowned – GuliKit TMR”. I have a little over a month of use now. And I guess I’ll give the plot away, they started excellent and are still excellent. I also take a look at why they have about the same feel as the Alps joysticks.

Thanks for the update. I have installed about 15 pairs so far, between xbox and ps5. Only had one that was bad out of the package. The oldest one is about 6 weeks ago, and thats my daily driver and still calibrated perfectly. These things are amazing!

Installed these last month to repair a drifting controller and they are fantastic replacements. Little bit pricey but so good.

As an electronic engineer, i appreciate the coverage you do and how in depth you get into the nitty gritty of how the sensors work in this video and the past ones. Would be interesting to see if GuliKit where able to get these sticks working on Xbox cons reliably.

Thanks! Based on one of your earlier videos, I bought a couple of GuliKit sets, replaced both on a DualSense where the left stick was drifting, then used instructions from another of your videos to calibrate. Now that controller feels better than brand new. The thumb knobs are a great (and unexpected) improvement too.

The desoldering part was "fun" (JK). But this time I splurged and got a Hakko FR301-03/P instead of messing around with solder wick and a crappy manual sucker. Pricey, but worth it (and I'll use it for years on other projects too).

While I had the controller open, I also added a third party paddle button remap kit. Sort of like a poor man's DualSense Edge or Scuf. I'm super happy with the results.

What I didn't realize earlier was that these are TMR sensors instead of Hall sensors. I had not heard of TMR's until your video. Now I know what Tunneling Magnetoresistance sensors are.

Thank you so much for your channel. I installed the GuliKit sticks a few weeks ago and they are easily the best replacements I've used. After calibrating, I can use a 0 dead-zone in a lot of different games and it feels much crisper and accurate than anything I've used before.

Can you test the new K Silver TMR sticks for dualsense? There is literally no info online about them yet. They sell for a fraction of the price of the gulikit Tmr option.

Just ordered 3 sets of these bad boys. Can't wait to install them. 2years ago did upgrade on battery 4000mAh and it was the Best upgrade so far.

Definitely cool to hear. I ordered mine for the switch pro controller. Sent the controller in to get the Alps replaced with the TMR joysticks. Hopefully they be good just the PS5 ones.

You know the Gulikit knobs can be detached and replaced with other Gulikit knobs right? Gulitkit sells a knob kit.
