I once saw a similar older boat designed for much smaller engine size and speeds close to this speed, hit one small wave and the boat was broken straight into two pieces. We were the first to come close and found the 2 on the boat, alive (luckily) one with a broken leg and the other with a punctured lung and multiple ribs broken and fractures in the neck.

Moral of the story, don't put hundreds of horsepower on a 50 year old boat designed for 40hp
