"the guy who worked on this before me did a great job" said no welder, mechanic or any tradesman ever

Hey DEBOSS you know the difference between a farmer and a welder?

Welders don’t think they can farm! 🤣🤣🤣

Love your videos!

LOVE IT... I (old dog trying to learn a new trick) JUST bought a TIG and hope to learn enough for my own use. Been stick welding (off and on. mostly for myself) for over 50 years and MIG for at least half that long. TIG has long been on my 'someday' list. So this video, two real world guys getting into it is PERFECT for me. I just subscribed THANKS!

You can tell from this video, Rich is a good listener. Very different from many Youtubers who talk over people. That's got to be a big part of why he's good at so many things. Watch, listen and learn.

Heck yeah, man, I’d love to see more stuff like this! A time lapse from very beginner to a point where you’re getting consistently good welds would be an awesome, long-term project, too.

Ah man, that Red Green Show reference made my night. That show was my childhood... every morning before school, I'd catch reruns and watch during breakfast

The BEST Tig video! Kudos to Randy for the instruction. I mean this man covered everything without going crazy technical. The 1 amp per .001 guideline is perfect for a beginner. I've been welding with torch, stick and mig for years and needed to learn tig. I bought a 2000 dollar machine because when I started mig welding 35 years ago, I screwed myself trying to learn on a crappy machine. I have watched many videos about tig but this one is the Best! Great work guys and Thank You!

I'm no welder, but it all made sense and was easy for me to follow. I say learn TIG, on videos and show how hard it can be and that it does take time and practice to learn!
I myself would never be a good TIG welder, I'd kill the tungsten tips more than not, simply no patience for that type of work.
yeah I ac stick and mig now and then and it looks great (LOL/not) I don't do anything structural nor life dependent :))

I've been stick welding various things for 25 years and finally sprung for a 3-way machine, so this was the first video I checked out for an intro to TIG. I see I still have a good deal to learn about gas mixes, pressures, and amperage levels. I did a year of metal sculpture in college and am seeking to make a cleaner, more perfect join, with less clean-up finishing work. This presentation was a great start, well done! thank you!

Thanks for the video. Just getting into TIG welding as a shipyard pipefitter. We don't full weld as a fitter, but being able to at least tack is very helpful. And being able to weld my own side projects once I get a rig for home is huge.

I just purchased a multi-process welder that includes TIG. Been stick and MIG welding for years.
I was taught that:
Stick is the strongest (depending on rod) with the best penetration, but is dirty.
MIG is quick, middle of the road
TIG is for light weight, pretty welds on various materials

I am excited to get into TIG

Great video! Best I’ve watched for beginners like me, he asked all the questions I was thinking and really related to where I’m at. Really really cool and appreciated.👍🏼
