Healthy soil is essential to the future of food production but our planet is losing 24 billion tonnes of fertile soil every year.

North Dakota farmer Gabe Brown practices regenerative farming which includes principles and practices to improve soil and promote diversity. By planting a mix of crops, using minimal chemicals, and letting animals graze freely, his family farm is thriving and so are the lands around it.

As part of the #OurPlanet initiative we’ve collaborated with the World Economic Forum to show what’s possible when people try to find new ways of tackling climate change and restoring nature. Stay tuned as each week we’ll be bringing you a new inspirational story!

The answer is so obvious and so simple - and so urgent. We must restore our nation's and the world's soil health. are you listening USDA?

Um ... I'm not denying the VITAL importance of soil, but the etymology of "human" does NOT include "humus": "late Middle English humaine, from Old French humain(e ), from Latin humanus, from *homo* ‘man, human being’. The present spelling became usual in the 18th century; compare with humane." Humus etymology: "late 18th century: from Latin [humus], ‘soil’."

is this an issue worldwide? or only US? i don't see or hear about this in EU, most farmers already run regenerative agriculture from my understanding.

Of course, the word human has nothing to do with humic, humates or humus. What a ridiculous notion. Google is your friend.

WWF it is so sad to see an organisation I care about deeply, supporting animal agriculture when we know raising 100 billion animals a year is killing our planet, through being the largest cause of deforestation, polluting our rivers and seas, and causing the most deaths in developed nations like the US and my country Australia. Please do what we expect you to do and support ending animal production to save our dying planet!
