You’re warned by everyone you know to avoid Wetlands. Even the Real Estate community gets it wrong and warns you about buying a property that has Wetlands as part of your purchase. The only problem for you as a potential buyer is that you’re listening to them. All you’re hearing are people repeating the negative view of Wetlands that originates from the construction industry.

Your the first person that it explained wet lands in a way that i can understand it. Very helpful. I'm in the proccess of buying 14 acres and based on what the realtor told me, we have a small area with wet land in the back of the land, and some flooding zones, everything else is high and dry. Would love to talk to ask you a few questions though.

I love the wetlands, growing up in Tampa my granddaddy had 150 acres of land that his dad bought during prohibition and my granddaddy had bridges built all over and granddaddy, me and my cousins used to catch gators, raccoons, possums and fish all the time

If it illegal to drain the wetland into the front ditch using French drain system through the wetland?

What about putting the French drain system on the border of the wetland section in the upland section and allowing the water to seep into the drain?
