Shirley mentions the Canongate and the 'old town'...she's singing about her hometown of Edinburgh, where the Canongate neighbourhood is at the bottom of the High Street (aka Royal Mile), which bisects the city's Old Town by running from the castle at the top of the hill down a mile to the Palace of Holyrood House (Mary Queen of Scots lived there; the current Royal Family stays there when in the capital city). Shirley's family lived 40 mins. walk from the Canongate, in the fabulous neighbourhood of Stockbridge. Today, she owns a place down in Portobello, which is down on the city's beachfront, where two neighbourhoods, Portobello and Joppa add up to a wonderful place to live.

Garbage should start a new trend. They have so many great songs in their catalogue that were never released as singles that could be given a new lease on life with new videos. I also just read that they are starting work on a new album so I'm stoked about that!

Absolute, total and utter GARBAGE! ♥♥♥ I had no idea that this song is at least 13 years old. But man does it sound fresh, alive and hopeful. This is exactly the kind of song we needed. Thank you for taking me back to the best parts and places of the 90s with this song and video that convey an atmosphere of departure. I love you, Garbage. I've loved you since 1995.
