In six months, Rahul Krishnan went from being non-responsive, to nodding at questions, to jogging through the hallways of Blythedale Children’s Hospital. The New York teenager is recovering from a traumatic brain injury he suffered after crashing his motorcycle. Doctors say he had a disorder of consciousness. But day by day, they saw improvement. Now the goal is to get back to school and finish his senior year with his peers. Inside Edition Digital’s Leigh Scheps has more.

As a previous/multiple-time patient of TIRR Spinal Chord and Brain Injury Rehab in Houston, Texas. I firmly undoubtedly attest that this is RARE and this young man is so LUCKY. He needs to buy some lottery tickets that is certain!!

Wow, such a dramatic improvement in just 6 months, good for him. He didn’t give up and neither did the hospital staff. It’s interesting hearing what having a traumatic brain injury is like from first person perspective of the victim. It sounded really bad but he’s got good goals set up and I hope he’s able to accomplish them and recover from this terrible experience. This should also serve as a reminder/warning to always wear a helmet and other protective gear when riding a motorcycle because some people don’t, and don’t think this could happen to them. I know he wore one, I saw it in the picture of the accident.

What an amazing young man!! He's right a safe, easy life is a privilege that most of us don't even appreciate, let alone think about.

I'm glad he survived and is OK now or at least getting better. My son has a motorcycle and I worry about his safety all the time.

As a motorcycle rider I can confirm that you have to be so careful when riding on the road. In Australia, you have to pass a 2 day safety course before getting your Learner permit and another 1 day safety course before passing the Motorcycle Operational Skills Test to upgrade from the Learner permit to the Provisional 1 Motorcycle licence. It is reinforced over and over how you have to be careful and concentrating on the road. But, accidents can still happen. It's not good when they do and I'm glad this boy is okay and making s good recovery. I hope it doesn't scare him off riding or driving again.

the narrator is mispronouncing his. name...the young man's name is RA-HUL not RA-UL. I'm very happy for Rahul, he is very lucky.
