I have watched games with my football fan-riddled family my whole life (I'm 32 next month), always enjoying the culture and the energy of the players and spectators, but struggling with a huge sense of imposter syndrome since I didn't actually understand what was happening. I knew what a touchdown was, which direction our team was meant to travel, and where the QB stood in the lineup, that was honestly about it til today. Thank you so much for putting all this into very plain English in a way that my mind could digest without watering or dumbing it down too much. I expect I'll feel much more capable cheering along with my family now 😁

I’m from the UK and that’s a great explanation of the game. I’m a Rugby Union supporter, and I don’t think I understand all of the finer details and nuances in that sport.
