Never cared for alcoholic drinks at all. Knew as a kid that alcoholism runs in the family, so avoided it.

I gave up alcohol 6 months ago. Wasn't happy how much my intake was creeping up. Haven't missed it at all.

I lost 30 to 40 kg in 6 months, just changed food and eat healthy breakfast, lunch & dinner. 6 years ago. Great buying new wardrobe.

You will feel great again and look great too.

I was shielding, and I am 85 kg now, stable, allowed out Aug 1st to shop.

I do walk and have stairs. Yoga is great too.

Rarely drink alcohol and never bought sugary drinks, make my own drinks.

Diaries are great. Be kind to yourself.

I can see a problem; people who previously would not consider drinking alone at home, but would drink freely in a pub in company have now been normalised to drinking on their own, at home.

🇨🇦The burden of chronic disease is so heavy globally. There is much work to do; if there is any good coming out of Covid-19, it’s that we realize that these comorbidities leave us much more vulnerable to disease than we had ever imagined, and we must work to change this. Great report🇨🇦

There’s a medical doctor who recognized this early on. He placed obese Covid patients on their stomachs & sides while giving oxygen. Don’t remember his name or any details but he also noted how the obese patients had the same complaints as mountain climbers... this was months ago, wish I could follow up but can’t remember him. Thank you for another informative update. Stay well.

Fructose and especially high fructose corn syrup are metabolised in the liver leading to Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) which damages the liver as does excessive alcohol. This chronic disease is now becoming rampant and is appearing in children who consume large quantities of soft drink sweetened with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Exercise and calorie restriction may help you to lose weight in the short term but it has been proven over and over that you will gain back the weight unless you fundamentally change your diet. Over the past year or two I have lost 30 pounds on a low carb diet, avoiding sugars, grains, and so-called vegetable oils. At 68, I have lowered my BP, blood sugars, and triglycerides significantly, thereby avoiding medicines that my physician wanted to prescribe. Admittedly with the outbreak I have been drinking more alcohol but I have decided to stop. Alcohol is simply unhealthy.

Gave up alcohol four years ago due to unrelated issues, lost nearly two and half stone, my blood pressure came down and all in all don’t miss it.feel fitter and certainly don’t miss the Sunday hangovers
