Yo travelers! In this video i'll show you the world quest:
Where His Life Lies!

In Short the only Requirements are COMPLETE:
A. Archon Quest Chapter 4 Act 5.
B. Garcia's Paean - A Gift of Compatibility.
C. After point B, 2 times between these 2 quests:
Garcia's Paean - Substitutes or Garcia's Paean: key Items.
Then wait for 1 or 2 daily reset then you can meet him in the Court of Fontaine.

Full Process:
1. Complete world quest: Garcia's Paean, In Liyue at Wangshu Inn.
2. Set daily commissions to Sumeru.
3. Complete daily comm: Garcia's Paean - Substitutes 3 times.
4. Complete daily comm: Garcia's Paean - By Bearings 1 time.
5. Compelte daily comm: Garcia's Paean - Easy Peasy 4 times.
6. Complete daily comm: Garcia's Paean - the Echo of Someone 3 times.
7. Wait 1 daily reset.
8. Obtain world quest: Garcia's Paean - A Gift of Compatibility.
9. Compelte 2 times in total between Substitutes or Key Items.
10. Wait 1 daily reset (24h after 4.6 patch)
11. Garcia will spawn in the court of fontaine for: Where His Life Lies.

11. Garcia will spawn in the court of fontaine for: Where His Life Lies.

While doing Sumeru daily commissions, Garcia's Paean - Key Items will randomly appear but it doesn't affect the process.

Seeing Garcia again after so long activated my ptsd, staying from 3.0 to 3.7 doing dailys in Sumeru for managed to get the world quest is something I wouldn't wish even on my worst enemy

For those who have already completed all the quests but the Garcia doesnt spawn.
Follow these steps:-
Complete any Summeru Garcia quest 2 times be it Substitutes or Key Items or whichever you get due to rng.
But after 2 quests Garcia should spawn in fontaine.
he will show up after a daily reset of having completed 'Canticles of Harmony'

Thanks for the guide. But this obstacle that requires to do that daily commision in Sumeru 2 more times even i already did "garcia's paean gift of compatibility" made me wish bad things to those who created this quest and conditions to unlock it.

Update: did daily commission which requires coins from bandits, 2 times, after that the quest triggered.

Yeah no. I draw the line at commission locked quests, I'll just have to deal with not having that 45/45.

For anyone who has done quest already with Kyo replying the same copy paste of his written pin:

Short version: We’re cooked.

We still need to do the final two bits twice. You may have only done it once. But you NEED to do it TWICE!

Why we can’t just talk to these characters instead of praying on gacha for world quests I don’t know but yeah. Set your dailies to Sumeru and pray.

Finally today I'm done with garcia's sumeru quest....took 6 months 😭 now waiting for one day reset so he pops up in Fontaine

Thanks this video tutorial really worked for me. I like to add on some points. I already got achievement of Garcia's Quest. So I just switched the daily commission to Sumeru only and the Garcia's Paean - A Gift of Compatibility quest appeared after the day Garcia was in Court of Fontaine. This guide is suitable for anyone who's are wandering about the achievement. Thanks once again. And Hoyoverse you released Dark Souls version of Genshin Impact side quest thing.

Thank you Kyo! Finally got this one the RNG was tough and always against what i wanted but now i'm done with it. On time before Natlan.
(I can confirm doing Garcia's Paean - Key Items once after the 8 first steps was enough to unlock the quest for me)

for those who cant get it, Kyo said that we should do the commissions at point D or at 11 at what he wrote, regardless having already obtained the achievment

"Daydream beyond space and time" is another follow up quest of Garcia which will spawn after server reset giving achievement "In Those Ruins of Dreams..."

Is this the devs' way to gatekeep world quests' content? Because I hate that there are at least 2 World Quests that require daily reset. 😢

If you finished garcia's whole questline and got his achievements BEFORE 4.6, well -- you basically need to do it again for him to appear here.
Not all of it -- just need to set your commissions to sumeru, get "garcia's paean: substitutes" (or garcia's paean: key items) and complete it twice. (or one of each.)
then wait one more daily reset. then he will spawn at the station.

i've read a lot of rumors that this was the method, but i tested it firsthand, i can confirm it's true.
