For many cheating is part of the game, but imagine being caught cheating on live tv, in
front of millions of viewers. Kind of scary, right? well, not for these players. Here are 10
athletes who were caught cheating, some who didn’t even apologize
Number 10.) Michael pineda
Baseball players use a lot of tricks to score points and win games, like Michael Pineda,
who has been caught cheating many times on the field. But the recent one was the
most serious, as he was handed down a 10 games ban. Pineda pitched six innings of
one-run ball in a 4-1 Yankees victory, striking out seven along the way. For the first four
of those innings, a brown, sticky substance was clearly visible to TV viewers. "It's just
dirt, nothing to see here" was Michael Pineda's general reaction to being accused of
glopping up the heel of his hand with some unknown substance in a strong pitching
performance against Boston. What actually happened was the weather had turned the
baseball into a piece of ice, so after the first inning, Pineda resorted to applying pine tar
to his neck, and from there to the baseball. That brought the umpires out to the mound.
They quickly discovered the substance and chucked Pineda out of the game.
Number 9.)Julie miller
The curious case of Canadian triathlete Julie Miller, who was accused of repeatedly
cheating in races she seemed to have won, has been well documented. The New York
Times published a piece, entitled “Swim. Bike. Cheat?” in which the publication

investigated Miller’s race. It gives details on how Miller erased a 10-minute deficit off the
bike to cross the line in first at the Whistler, B.C. competition. Many athletes also
suspected her of cutting the course, possibly by failing to complete one of the laps in the
two-lap marathon. Among other things, Miller finished the race without her timing chip,
meaning that there was no information about her split times that reflect an athlete’s
progress along the course. She was initially disqualified for that but was reinstated
shortly after. After receiving multiple tips from athletes, the regional director for Ironman,
Keats McGonigal, disqualified Miller from Ironman Canada 2015 that August.
number 8.) Cameron Bancroft
Australia batsman Cameron Bancroft was caught ball-tampering during a match against
South Africa. The player was holding the ball when television cameras caught him
producing a flat bit of material from his pocket, with slow-motion replays being shown on
TV coverage. And Bancroft then appeared to put the material into his trousers in an
attempt to hide it. The Umpires spoke to Bancroft at the time of the incident, and he
produced what looked to be a sunglasses case from his pocket – though the black
fabric did not look like the piece of material that he had put into his trousers seconds
before. While the two umpires appeared satisfied with Bancroft’s explanation, officials
looked closer and found Cameron guilty of ball-tampering. Reverse swing can have a
major role in cricket, and players can increase that by roughing up the ball with foreign
objects, like the one Cameron was holding, which is strictly prohibited in cricket. He was
banned from cricket for 9 whole months for this. The whole team, even the Australian
prime minister had to give a statement of apology after this event.

Number 7) Sammy Sosa
Baseball was good to the Cubs slugger Sammy sosa. He tried everything he could to
deliver results that would please the baseball gods. But even the best sometimes fall
prey to cheating incidents. It was year 2003 when his life took a dark turn. In a game at
Wrigley Field in Chicago, Sosa lunged at a low breaking ball against the Tampa Bay
Devil Rays, slapping a ground ball to second base. The pitch broke Sosa's black bat in
half. When the crew chief and his three fellow umpires retrieved and examined the bat,
they ejected Sosa, having discovered brown cork on the bat's beige insides. He ended
up serving a seven-game suspension. He did not take the Otis good-guy approach.
Instead, Sosa said he “grabbed the wrong bat,” and said he uses that bat for practice.
This incident caused his image to deteriorate and he never really recovered from it. Do
you feel bad for him? If yes, wait till you see the next person cheating
Number 6.) Sal alosi
This is something straight out of the TV series, Friday night lights. Sal Alosi, a strength
coach with the New York Jets, tripped Dolphins player Nolan Carroll in a 2002 game as
he ran down the sideline on punt return coverage.

The Rivaldo one should not be here ffs. Flopping is not cheating and as long as the sport's officials tolerate it, players are gonna do it. It has been, and will continue to happen. ALWAYS
