What a glorious moment is this first movement .After the first anxieties of the beginning, Schnabel (0:25) playing as free as ever ....  in this kind of complete relaxed tension we can find only by him .... sing together, youtuber, this is heavenly, heavenly music ....

He is the only one who does justice to first movement

The first sonata where the composer combines terseness with grandeur. Strong ideas of a primeval, almost brutal grandeur. Rapid, almost fragmentary ideas are strong in movement and executed with great vigor. A vehement nature who eliminates details that interfere with his uncanny sense of emphasis and timing.

Haaahh !  The Prestissimo of the Beethoven Fifth Sonata by our Arthur !!  12:53 !!!
Its torpedo wild life and the sudden sforzandi everywhere, and the paralysed climax at 15:46 hah !!  And what's following : tridimensionnal hallucination of your own destiny in your own past (with the fulminating silencious "pppp" at the very end  ....;;.... ..

The prestissimo beginning reminds me of Chopins Fsharp minor Polonaise
