In 1971at the age of 12 at Scouts in Germany, I was sent on a 24 hour hike with another 12 year old Scout, NO adult supervision and NO mobile phone contact. We and other patrols of the same age not only survived, but didn't see any problem in the activity. About time we were allowed to perform such a task. These days "all hell is breaking loose", when one is only mentioning it.

My longest and scariest flight was an 8:50 flight out of ATL I was with my dad and we were flying to Charlotte to see his parents. We were on the plane and 10-20 minutes later we had to turn around because the engine on the right side malfunctioned and smoke was coming into the cabin. The pilot elected to go back to ATL and eventually after 5 hours of waiting the new plane came and took us to Charlotte. I was 7 at the time of this flight. I thought that I was going to die because I thought that a bad guy with a gun was on the plane.
