You left out the critical detail that he had backing and support from the US Government. Its not like the United Fruit Company did this all on their own.

There was also the Banana Wars which u didnt mention. Literally a war fought over bananas which was essentially the US taking over all of Spain's holdings and colonies and largely an intent to monopolize trade of bananas.

Fun fact. The banana she is talking about was wiped out my mold. What we buy today is another subspecies. More resistance to mold.

Gotta love American entrepreneurs. But thank god for human rights acts America also thought of. This would would be in the 1950s still if not for the USA. EXAMPLE: Cuba. Thanks for the informative clip
