First plumber I see on YouTube who primes and glues his PVC properly.

Elegant repair and a vent to boot! You pay attention to detail and lucky customers that you checked beyond the problem at hand and stuck to the codes. Good job.

Looks good to me. You did what u could with what u were dealt. Some places just need an auto vent ! Better than nothing. 👍

You forgot to mention you used an auto.vent to correct the venting problem. Look good. 👍

I would do the repair exactly as you did, as a Texas plumber I agree 💯

Good thing you added that vent on to that drain that drain perfectly fine for 70 years I'm sure the customer was so pleased to spend an extra $100 unnecessary dollars and materials and probably another hundred in labor to repair something that didn't need to be repaired.
The work is grandfathered in its old it worked when the house was built it's fine

I actually just had a plumber come to my house today. It was set up a week in advance. I had a new garbage disposal to replace the old one. It was a one horse which is stronger than the existing. He also fixed 2 other problems which were minor for him. In all parts and labor was just $300. Excellent value and professionally done.

When they say they could do it themselves but they didn't feel like it... its like bro its litterally two threaded connections and you don't have a plumbers license so there's no risk for you not following code. It would've taken anyone who actually knows how to do it a trip to the hard ware store and ten minutes but instead you wanted to wait around for me half the day, watch me replace 5x the stuff you were planning on, and then paying me idk $800-$1200.

What I'm thinking "i could've done it myself" means is actually, "this looks like something simple and i think i could manage to do it myself based off all the YouTube videos i watched last night. I don't know the name of the part i need, but i think that if I had to i could figure it out, i just don't have any confidence because this would be my first time doing it."

Glad to see a Plummer using a sure-vent. I am a remodeler. I a bit of everything. Some guys say those vents are no good, but use them on island sinks all the time.

As an auto shop owner I always hear “I’d do it myself but I don’t have the tools”. It’s always nice to see someone think they can handle a job and claim I’m “overcharging”, only to see the vehicle being towed to my shop after they realized how involved the job is.

That is one of the hardest things to get to a customer's head that you can't do things that aren't legal I know that because I fight that battle all day long

this stuff is seriously super super easy to swap out and diy, did this for my grandmas sink

The vent lower than the sink will leak water in the cabinet if there is a blockage in the drain lower than the trap. That’s why the code for a vent location is higher than the top of sink.

Great work. In our home the prior owners added a bar in the basement and tapped into one of the stacks, and it has no vent. And reading Missouri code, a vent like you installed is supposedly OK. I need to make a repair similar to yours :)

Did you make another video at this house changing the water faucet cartridges

Well done, how much do we charge for this job?

That was a nice fix👍🏽. Would it smell bad because the vent is right under the sink?
