Star Wars creator George Lucas was pretty shrewd in how he went about preparing Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise for its sale to Disney last year.

According to Businessweek's in-depth chat with all the principals involved in the sale, Lucas actually started actively developing the new Star Wars trilogy last year before the company was sold to Disney, thus increasing its value at the time of the deal.

Part 1 was given a bad rap cause it seemed like it had nothing the fans wanted while Parts 2 and 3 had some truly horrific scenes, which weren't only delivered badly, but just didn't feel right (namely the attempt to explain Anakin and Padame's relationship).

Some of the most creative and talented people on earth work on Disney, Many, like us have also been fans since their childhood. Also, knowing that Disney always was involved in Star Wars one way or another makes me confident that it will be a great movie, with a great director... Just drop the lens flares. ;)

I definitely know that Harrison Ford will not be in this movie because he stated along time ago that he never liked Han Solo's character and mostly preferred Indiana Jones. I hope this doesn't hold him back. We need some Nerfherders in this movie!

actually as a true star wars fan we have to embrace their decisions and see the outcome yeah it sucks that they sold the company but look at the bright side Star Wars will and shall be preserved for many years to come and if they screw it up it will be on them for messing up a great trilogy

they should make a CGI version of Shadow's of the Empire with all the old voice actors, just as an alternate star wars. I know the idea is too whacky to ever happen, but this would have been cool as hell.

its pretty good, I enjoyed it.. I enjoyed all the sw movies.. I can overlook jarjar because I had a darth maul epic fight, overlook love-drunk adolescent cous I got Natalie and a epic yoda fight scene and some FETT ACTION plus back story... and ROTS, we get to see a jedi fall, we see a sith redeemed in ROTJ

Finally someone who doesnt think the prequels were super bad. 1 was alright. 2 was good in the geonoshian battle and stuff but everyother part was bad. 3 Was awesome. Remember: My opinion.

I wouldn't really agree with you on John Carter. Better examples to replace would be, Holes, Alice in Wonderland, Tron, Tron Legacy, and many more live action films.

Well it's not like they're going to be main characters anyway.It's their kids (who should be in their 20s or 30s I assume) who's going to have the spotlight.

Dude the prequel weren't terrible. All the movies were awesome just the original will always be better. That doesn't mean the prequel weren't good too. Everyone expected them to be as good as the originals which set the bar really high
