Super cool Video man, i got my hands on a 1968 esquire and since i have it its my main axe, i love the simplicity, the original PU had to be rewound but it really still has the old sound to it, trough my vibro champ that thing is a beast and as pure as it gets if i could only have a 59 esquire with a slab i could die in piece

You're Father chose a fantastic guitar, you are right it has a little something extra which makes it a totally unique instrument. For a guitar player to choose a 1 pick-up over a 2 says that they hear a difference for the better in that 1st position.

Thanks for explaining and demonstrating the Esquire circuit. I’m definitely going to wire one of my teles like that. And fabulous playing BTW. 💪

For those that don't know, the Esquire was pre-routed for a neck pick-up. Because of this, many were converted to "Tele's". My guess is there are very few stock Esquires around anymore, because of this.

I wired up my pine Esquire build with a .033 as the fixed cap value..gives it a very usable honk/croak.

I have one Telecaster with the control plate wired backwards, so I can do volume swells more easily.

I miss my 1951 Esquire. I paid $100.00 for it. Original Case.

The protype first shown was dubbed a "Snakehead"

The "dark" sound was Leo attempting to give an option to sound like a Bass, as the PBass wasn't invented until 2 years later.
Try balancing the switch between front and middle and you can use the Capacitor AND the Tone Knob together.

Before the Broadcaster there was the Double Esquire with two pickups.

Actually fender was not the first solid body guitar, and not the first to use 6 in line tuners Paul Bigsby built a solid body guitar for Merely Travis in
1948 Leo Fender went to see Merle he borrowed that guitar for a week, if you see the head stock you see where Leo got that idea
