I cleaned up a couple valves, then looked and found this video, found out My valves are shot. Now I know, Thanks man. I'd like to send mine to you. But I think my piggy bank and the old lady are messing around behind my back.

Show us the cutter you are using to do the valve job. Do you use a multi angle cutter or just single angle cutters so you can narrow the seat to the desired width?

I see that issue in cores i purchase from a fleet maintenance company. All cng vehicles and most every head has the same issue. Always gets new valves rarely ever needs seat replacement

The other thing with alloy heads is the seats pound into the alloy. I have found that replacing seats in alloy or iron is far from ideal.
It seems Mopars drop the seats regularly. As do many others.
Trying to 'save' most iron heads with hardened seats leaves the heads to crack behind the seat then dribble coolant into the chamber. Something that I have refused to have happen. And ofcourse the 'press fit' allows the seat to drop out.
Here in Oz that has been a common thing with engines running on LPG, , still a common fuel. Factory LPG engines seldom have an issue but converted ones are often a disaster

Almost every ls head will have at least 1 warped valve. It's not just ls heads. Thinner, lighter valves with more heat among contributing factors.

I just saw a post on a Facebook group where one of those heads was cracked.

Those intakes look hot on the chamber side, but still shinny on the seating face. I like the outline of the gasket on the head surface, no discolor between the cylinders. At the beginning you mentioned the customer wanted to skim the heads. When I was looking at the sample my opinion intakes are immediate problem, head surface far down the list.

I see it less with the LS3 heads that are equipped with the factory sodium valves. those intake valves are HEAVY and they have a light spring aka valve float like you said.

I think every valve on my ls6 looked like that. Those factory zo6 valve's are softer then wet dog poop
