Why The Government Might Ban Disposable Vapes

It looks like the government are set to ban single-use vapes in the UK

Now the official announcement apparently coming next week, but it’s being reported that plans are being drawn up to stop the sale of single use vapes

Which are widely believed to be targeted at under 18s

It comes after doctors and health professionals around the UK have been calling for the ban

In 2022 some 15.5% of 16 to 24-year-olds vaped daily or occasionally

And NHS figures show a rise in children admitted to hospital because of vaping

But it’s not just health issues that have drawn concern- it’s also environmental ones too

Recycling campaign group Material Focus said five million disposable vapes are thrown away every week.

They say the vapes are toxic and can harm the environment

Now an official timeline is yet to be announced

But the government have confirmed they are set to make further announcements soon
