One thing I've noticed with 3D printer mods/design - nothing is ever as straightforward as it seems. It always takes a *LOT* longer than you think it will.

It took me quite a while to find the 3mm square nuts that were thin enough to fit in the parts when I added the mk2 extruder assembly to my AM8. I ended up finding a seller on amazon that had some that were just a tad bit thinner then needed (most were too thick), but they fit quite nice and I just deformed the plastic around the openings to keep them from falling out during assembly. I also bought a noctua fan from amazon, and if they come in the standard packaging from the mfg, they should come with a bunch of wire extensions that you can choose from that lets you either keep the 3 pin connector or go from the 3 pin to a 2 pin, so you wouldn't have had to cut it off.

I have heard that the extruder is a tough one in the kit version too.
