We took a look at the all new, all electric 2023 Nissan Ariya! Not only did we check out the Ariya on display we got a ride along on the EV test track.

Overall, we were impressed by the look and quality of the Ariya. We can't wait to see these on the streets in the US in fall of 2022.

I believe the E-Step doesn't fully stop the car like E-Pedal did

As a Leaf owner, I was really interested in the Ariya, as the Leaf has been really reliable and one of the safest BEVs ever. But, I have a hard time with Nissan. They were the company that got there first with BEVs, only to continue pushing the ICE vehicles and let their electric segment sort of fend for itself for the last 12 years (while Tesla and even GM for what it's worth, pushed forward and made Nissan look silly)
The Ariya is probably a great choice for someone new to electric cars, (yay! finally a thermally managed battery!) but I honestly like where Ford, GM and VW are going, hiccups and all. It also took GM a long time to actually commit, but it seems like they are really moving ahead and see what needs to be done in this huge transition period we're living in. Japan seems to be really hesitant to let go of gasoline, for whatever odd reason, and I think even Nissan, who brought us first real BEVs way back in 2010*, are not really putting their best foot forward.
I would love them to prove me wrong.

*Yes, I am aware of GM's EV1, Toyota's Rav4 EV, but I'm not talking about compliance cars that had no future

Good to see Nissan dumped air-cooled batteries and moved to the industry standard CCS for charging.

You call that a test drive? A test drive means getting a vehicle out on the roads and putting it through the paces. Nothing worse than deceiving video titles.

If you're going to do vblogs on YT, go invest in a GoPro.

I drive a leaf. You could buy two leafs for the price of the Aryia here in Europe. The Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are all luxury market so I'm out. Greedy car manufacturers meeting regulatory compliance laws.
