Wii U - Mario Kart 8 E3 Trailer

10 years ago. When this was announced we were all in a different stage of our lives and a decade on the final wave is releasing and what has felt like a journey is finally over. Thank you Nintendo for these 10 wonderful years of Mario Kart 8 and here's to the next release hopefully being sometime soon.

In 2023, this reveal trailer will be 10 years old. It’s crazy that Mario Kart 8 as a whole is receiving more content nearly a decade since its original release on Wii U.

I remember seeing this for the first time in awe at the anti-gravity concept and how beautiful the graphics looked. Wii and Double Dash might be fan favorites but I think this game was a masterpiece for its time

Happy 10th anniversary Mario Kart 8!
It's hard to believe, nobody was really expecting this back when the game first released, but MK8 managed to be the last numbered mainline Mario Kart over for 10 years now.
It has been a really long road, first the great base Wii U game, then its great Updates (including 200cc) and DLC, then the Switch port which is the definitive version to play this game (including all prior content with many QoL enhancements), then further additions via Updates, and even later the MK8DX Booster Course Pass which added so many new tracks and characters, and it was also great even if the graphical quality was not on par with the base game.
Though every one of these updates, DLC packs, and other additions meant that MK9 would not be coming any time soon and that was somewhat annoying, still glad them all happened, they extended MK8's life and made it an even better game.
Now that it and MKT are done, looking forward to MK9, after 10 years of MK8 it's about time for it, and it's its time to shine. After all this time, I'm sure Nintendo will be able to deliver an even better successor in the future!

5 years ago man....Already 5 years ago when they announced an 8th Mario Kart game. I remember watching this before my bus came for school and everyday as it gets closer to launch I almost scream everyday. And this music will forever live in my heart

It's weird to think that 4 years passed since this trailer was released, and 3 years since this game was released. It's changed so much then, especially since MK8 deluxe added in a true battle mode. Wow, time flies!

this trailer blew my mind back then, i couldnt believe how well this game looked, finally a mario game in HD, and even 10 years later i think the game still looks amazing, one of the best looking games ever, saddly was ruined with the stupid booster pack

10 years on, i can safely call this the best racing game from Nintendo. Double Dash had the mechanics, and GX had the skill, but nothing will ever top this.
