Path Tracer for final pixels | Feature Highlight | Unreal Engine 4.27

preview_player
Показать описание
The Path Tracer has received enhancements to make it viable for creating final pixel output typically only seen in offline renderings. The feature allows for physically correct and compromise-free global illumination, physically correct refractions, super-sampled anti-aliasing and more.

I’ve been having way too much fun with this one!

I've decided to spend these past week at work testing and understanding how the pathtracer works. What can I say about it? Well, I'm not using vray, corona or any offline renderer ever again, this is just nuts! Seriously, I think this is way bigger feature than raytracing was back in the day, just completely changed the way I work. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Really facinating! Definetly gonna use it when it full releases, and can't wait for this one to fully support the groom!

Please add full and robust Render Buffer support. Those of us in the VFX world require that for use, and I would never be able to convince the people I work with to use it without that.

While I think the path tracer is awesome and I've been having a lot of fun with it... I'd really love to see some AI enhanced noise reduction during render time instead of the current denoiser, which isn't that great especially for animated shots. While we can use post solutions for de-noising, it would be great if we could have more in-engine options for quick previews.

as an architect I suppose, its the time for developing individual chapter for purpose of ARCHVIZ by UE team! in order to get realistic animations & results by superior mtls & lights. such as reflection and refraction on glass imperfection and scratches on metals, caustics and liquids, translucency...

I've been enjoying this feature, but the lack of info is a touch frustrating. Can anyone tell me whether tessellation is supported? And I am also have issues with the foliage tool, it appears to bug out with small objects (screen size related?) Both work fine in lit mode.

UE4 Path tracing is really a cool feature, but it lacks CPU support. Anyways current UE4 path tracer could not be useful for any real-time applications, even though it does have the ability to render frames within a short period of time, likewise interactive viewport in many 3rd party rendering applications. Please use the leverage of CPU an optional way or make it for non-RTX cards (for instance, Substance painter iray renderer, adobe sucking our money on monthly basis, kinda hard), speed-related concerns don't matter, keep it aside. Instead, it can be useful for portfolio game assets rendering, similar showcasing modular or tileable material applicable assets. There are many people out there who don't have RTX cards, it would be an extra advantage for them without subscribing to other real-time applications for rendering portfolio assets.

Btw, 32 bounces and 2048 samples and still so fast iterations. Is it because it's an exterior scene or they are most probably using a 3080 TI or 3090?

Is it possible to render a Still Image in 360 with this path tracer?
