Grand Theft Auto 6 provides a whole new take on Vice City. It's long since been a rumor that GTA 6 would be set there, following in the footsteps of the fourth mainline game in the series. The first trailer for GTA 6 provides a few glimpses of the setting, including an enormous "Vice City" sign to dispel any doubts about where it takes place. While GTA has put out open-world games since 2002, the past two releases in the series, along with Rockstar's other property Red Dead Redemption 2, have really raised the bar for expansive video game maps. But there's more to GTA 6's location than meets the eye.

GTA 6 looks gorgeous, and stunningly realistic if any of the trailer was indeed captured in-engine. Parts of it are straightforward adaptations of locations from GTA: Vice City, while other parts look like they jumped right out of a postcard. With the trailer's reveals, plus a little prior knowledge of Vice City geography and both games' real-world basis, it's possible to guess at several features of GTA 6's setting.

I know it’s fan made but as a life long gta player.. I legit almost shed A tear when I saw Tommy vercetti.. it instantly brought me back to the good old days playing vice city for hours and hours as a kid.. the newer generation of gta players might not appreciate it, but I would love nothing more then to see Tommy make an appearance in the gta v1 story..

I mean, it's not entirely impossible Tommy will show up in GTA 6, but it will probably have a very low chance of happening. Tommy would be 74 in GTA 6, thats saying it takes place in 2025. Even if it is a year earlier, he is still really old and may have died of natural causes or he was murdered, considering his line of work. It would still be cool to see someone from a previous GTA to be in GTA 6.

As much as I would move for Tommy to be back, I don't see it happening.

However, I do have a theory that Jason will have some relation to Tommy! Whether Tommy was a 3rd cousin or a great uncle. He has to be mentioned somewhere in the game because of "vercetti estate"

I don’t think Tommy is coming back simply because the VA died a while ago, however rockstar definitely is putting references to him throughout the game.
