This might be a great idea that would work getting an iPad Mini (6th Gen) to substitute Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Nice size screen that fits perfectly in 2021 Refreshed consoles for Model 3/Y.

I didn't have a previous generation iPad Mini with thicker bezels to test out.

I think using an iPad mini is a great solution for Tesla or other cars that don’t have Apple Car Play. Someone should make mounts similar to phone mounts

One nitpick Tesla owners have is that they don't support CarPlay. Was honestly hoping for an alternative app to be featured here (even a jailbroken one?)... guess not. However, having iOS is still a bonus obviously. And also pretty cool that the Mini fits so nicely down there.

You can buy a Qi charging pad to lightning port for wireless charging. And some plastic block to place on the back of ipad for better view angle. If you do not need to remove the ipad when parked.

I wish apple would have put the new iPhone MagSafe on that iPad. I have one and use it the same way- just with a right angle USB-C adapter.

And THEN you need to mount your phone so you have three screens up there haha. Great video! Does the mini do wireless charging or would you have to plug it in?
