If you’re reading this comment, chances are the PROBLEM isn’t SOLVED after all this! It’s quite questionable when a video can’t show a “before and after”. I live in the eastern US and Conan Exiles seems to crash more during the day and rarely (if at all) in the later evening. The crashing may have more to do with the Steam program than the game itself. As I have learned by playing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and War Thunder. Both games crashed often in Steam until I played them outside of Steam, and then they worked perfectly.

To mitigate or eliminate Conan Exiles from crashing, consider the following:

1. Buy the game from a vender other than Steam or use the publisher’s independent launcher. I love Steam, but sometimes it is better to buy some games elsewhere. I couldn’t get AC Black Flag to stop crashing so much until I bought a digital copy directly from Ubisoft. I couldn’t access the Steam perks, but at least the game worked flawlessly. With War Thunder, I opened the Gaijin Launcher from the game’s root folder in Steam’s download files. It created a Gaijin account that had an independent launcher and it never crashed. Again, I couldn’t get the Steam perks; but at least the game no longer crashed. If you decide to buy from another vender, then the other steps won’t be necessary.

2. Ensure your PC configuration exceed the recommended system requirements. This should be a no brainer, but some people assume that having the latest OS and graphic card will exceed the minimum system requirements. Check your RAM, processor, and storage as well. You can check your DirectX version by typing “dxdiag” in the Windows search box.

3. Clear installation ques. This often causes Conan Exiles to crash when starting up. You don’t have to install all the games in your Steam Library. Just be sure all installation and update ques are complete before opening the Funcom Launcher. The Funcom Launcher requires Steam to remain open in the ground; but any background downloads will interfere with the gameplay. When the ques are complete and clear, close the Steam window.

4. Clear Steam’s download cache. Clear Steam’s download cache by going to DOWNLOAD CACHE from Steam’s main page. Restart and revalidate the Conan Exiles’ game files.

5. Keep the Steam window closed. I don’t know why, but keeping the Steam window closed mitigates the frequency of crashes than when it is left open. Probably because it is still downloading and running its store page while online. As mentioned before, the Funcom Launcher will automatically exit if the Steam app is exited. Going offline may help a bit, but the Challenges and Bazaar will not be available during gameplay.

I’m still trying to find a permanent solution other than buying a new copy of the game. I’m open to any suggestions as well.

They just need to fix their damn game. Constant crashing in single player all of a sudden after 350 hours of gameplay. Even with NEW drivers not updated.
