Corsa D subframe

This Corsa D had failed its MOT test (annual roadworthy inspection in the UK) due to excessive corrosion on the subframe.

I sourced a replacement online for £145, delivered.

I didn’t do any videos on the removal of the old unit, mainly due to the bad weather at that time.

There’s some parts of the video where the zoom goes a bit crazy, turns out it was my watch rubbing off my gloves and causing this (I use this sometimes to work the camera).

The wheel alignment wasn’t too bad, I thought it would have been off much more. I haven’t had a chance to adjust it yet, I’ll do that before taking it for another MOT.
It took a couple of hours to complete this job.

Thanks for watching.

Really appreciate this format. No irritating background music is so appreciated. After being a bit freaked by the Hayes narrative am now cracking on with a lot more confidence. Getting the old bolts out is another story, needs time and patience to avoid rounding off bolts and destroying captive nuts. Advise any novices like me to study the many utubes on this topic. Great work on putting this together and sharing.

I know the original bolts are expensive at like 6 bucks a pop but i would rather spend 50 bucks on new bolts for the subframe than put some rusty shit on it, but thats just me. you do you, great work!

Did you just use a rachet on the bracket above the subframe (the bit you couldn't film)

Was it quite hard to do mate mine is starting to crack where the control arm bolts too.

What did you use to support the engine ?

And roughly how long did it take for you to install ?

Might sound a silly question how difficult was it to get the old bolts out from the old subframe

Nice work. Quick question, did you note where all of the bolts go? I may have been a biff and stripped the subframe off without noting where all of the bolts go. I've now realised that most are different sizes!

Ну если тебе нравятся дешёвое пойло, тогда Lidl и ему подобные: Aldi, Neto, и т.д. как раз для " истинных ценителей" барматухи.
