My content aware crop tool is not greyed out, it is checked and I am not on a locked layer but it is not filling. I just see the background color selected in the extended crop area after i click the checkmark. What is wrong?

GREAT MAN! After watching few other videos for the same issue, you finally nail it with the Menu Option, I just installed the 2023 version and it didn't work with the shortcut, Why? because there's no shortcut for this!

The layer I am trying to crop is not locked, it is selected alright and it is not a smart object too. Yet content-aware cropping option is disabled.

Thank you so much for this video it helped me out a lot. I think more people would give this video a like if you showed how to change the smart object into a layer. Even-though it's just right clicking on the section it would make a large difference I think. Also now that I got CONTENT AWARE SCALE working, and not grayed out the problem I'm having now is cropping it to the way I want. It's so confusing. Like the crop tool is basically cutting out a piece of the image before I can hit content aware: It becomes gray again. Wait lol I think I'm suppose to be hitting the Marquee tool not the cropping tool... ahh I'll just keep working on it. "Now I'm getting a warning stating no pixels are more than 50% selected. Selected edges will not be visible." Think that just meant I need more than 50% of the image selected. Now the Marquee is also acting weird it's creating a circle instead of a square, and when I hit content aware scale it's making the color lighter while stretching the image out.
