What was motorcycle chariot racing?

After the Incredibly popular film Ben hurr was released in the 1920s, some Australians thought it would be a great idea to attach a motorcycle to a chariot. This craze quickly spread to Europe and North America with many adding a second motorcycle to the chariot and holding races. Sadly the great depression and second world war put a stop to the sport but some enthusiasts continue to make motorcycle chariots to this day.

Ahahahahaha! I live in Perth Western Australia, and we do the same thing but with bike kits and our bikes (just a cycle bike with a motor slapped on it) and attach a coles shopping cart and ride around on it. Great fun
