BMW 2002 Coupe Rust Removal Surgery

In this video we remove the spare tire wheel well and weld in a new one. Unfortunately we ran out of gas so we have to finish that in the next video.

A tip for someone doing this or something similar in the future: Remove the undercoat on the outside were you are welding as well, it will burn and the gasses are going to mess up your weld. Also don't try to weld in a continious beed, the metal is just too thin for that, spot weld instead. And if possible don't weld over head, the results will be much better because you can coordinate your hand better.

Try grinding the seam on the welding areas find zinc weld thru primer and spray it on before welding. With the fuel tank, try to find a radiator shop that repairs gas tanks. They will repair and seal the whole tank making a safer repair! Do not grind or spark around even an empty gas tank! The process is call gas tank Renu and will make the tank last a really long time. Put closed cell foam around the base of the tank to cushion it as to protect the flange. Keep up the nice work guys!
