You can tell Ross had his own plan to propose to Rachel, it’s too bad that most of the show they were mostly off on their on and off romance. Rachel seemed to have loved Ross’ plan, it surprisingly fits them. Could have been nice to end the show on a more healed relationship between the two, and get a scene like that, not just reconnected. For all we know, they could have gone on another break after the season ends 😆

This proposal was absolutely the best proposal on tv show, even if we didn't see it. But we actually do know that Ross&Rachel married and stayed together after the end. This fact is mentioned in the short-lived show 'Joey', the spin-off of Friends, written and produced by the same people as Friends so it's exactly the same universe. In one episode, Joey said to his new friends in Los Angeles (the spin-off is about Joey moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career) that all his old, best friends in New York are married now. That clearly means Ross and Rachel got married, we just didn't see it on Friends.

Cause Monica&Chandler and Phobe&Mike already married on Friends. So if Joey said now ALL of his best friends are married, this means Ross and Rachel too, and they did def get back together, and it absolutely looked final, so it is pretty safe to assume they stick to it. Also, long story short, the writers simply confirmed it, and Jen in all her interviews always says that Ross and Rachel are still together, raising kids (she even used 'kids' not just Emma, so she imagines they got more kids after, which is so sweet for me).
