Brother don’t even worry about it. First i used to install farming irrigation systems and those things take time driving to get perfectly straight. You make small adjustments keep looking back to check on depth and next thing you know your a foot to far left or right. And with that type of dirt natural backfill is just part of trenching. I learned if you take a flat shovel and drag it along the line on the high spots leveling the dirt out. It will save your back from shoveling it all out. Keep up the good work 👍

I stopped using ditch witch’s, and switched to mini excavators for all my trenches. You can put the dirt where you want and you can make the trench wide enough for a jumping jack tamper to fit.

Just be aware that cover for the nec is defined by the amount of dirt on top of your conduit. 300.5 for installs up to 1k volts. 300.50 for those installs above 1k volts
