Have one, and would never consider a GM, Ram and Ford - maybe! Tundra is awesome!

I’m a Chevy guy, but I’d be willing to bet this truck will be the most dependable of them all.

I have a 2007 Tundra 5.7 liter engine. I live in Vermont which is hard on any vehicle. It currently has 207K. Only a couple of rust spots which I fix before winter hits. Truck has been an awesome reliable vehicle. My buddy just purchased the new 2023 6 cylinder twin turbo Tundra. I warned him not to buy it because it's a first year model since the redesign. I just heard that when he started the truck, the transmission made a huge KA-BANG! He then began to drive it down the road, and the truck locked up a 35 mph and came to a screeching halt. I can foresee a long visit to the dealer in his future. He also got into a little fender bender with it. It got bumped by another vehicle in his driveway. The rear passenger door got dented in and the cab corner. The shop had to remove the entire bed to fix the cab. When he got the truck back from the shop, he noticed that the left blinker in the rear wasn't working. He brought it back to the shop and for some strange reason, they can't seem to figure out why the blinker isn't operational. The last time I talked to him, the shop had to send it out of state to another dealer to see if they could figure out the issue.

I have a black 1794 with the TRD package. The truck gets more compliments than any vehicle I have ever owned and I have had many. I’m sure it doesn’t have the strength of a Ram but I use mine for highway runs and pulling a 7k lb boat. I’m a Lexus guy who needed a truck and the 1794 interior is right there with Lexus. If you want a modern truck that is reliable and capable of being parked downtown and in any building’s garage, this is it. Then there’s resale value. The list goes on. If I needed a Ram I’d have bought one.

My 2013 F150 4wd has had some issues this year. It's got 83k miles. Dealer maintained. The IWE's (both) required replacing at $1200 each. Now I've got a faulty $200 part that mates to the valve body inside the transmission that's likely going to cost $1000 to fix. Higher reliablity is what I'm after so the Tundra is definitely a contender after reading the horror stories about the latest Eco chevy engines having nearly chronic lifter failure issues due to their AFM system which shuts down 4 of 8 cylinders. WIsh they had just kept the 5.3L Vortec. The tundra frame and construction seems top notch.

I keep hearing people say they don't like the look of the Tundra. I don't get it. Looks great to me.

I am definitely considering getting one. I saw a few reviews about the windows rattling is this true?

Pretty sure the tundra and tacoma are in top 10 most sold vehicles. F150 is the only American truck in the top ten and yes it does sell more than the tundra. Most fans of Toyota stick with Toyota because it's more reliable than Ford but I'm sure you know that. I hope this truck keeps that tradition. Time will tell

Why would anyone buy the American trio when it’s proven Tundra has way more reliability and resale. It’s just doesn’t make sense

I test drove one. Love. Ordered a platinum with all options. Didn’t like the chrome/wood in the 1794/capstone. And wanted the luxury options the pro doesn’t offer.

I have a 2021 ford and having that hump in the tundra in the middle back floor makes it hard to slide and load things

Holding up for a few years for the kinks and all. Proudly have. 2010 Tundra with 105k miles.

The goodies are overrated. Especially if you keep your truck a long time. The goodies won’t seem so impressive when at 150, 000 miles your replacing the transmission and engine at a cost north of $10, 000 dollars. If you buy a new truck every 2 or 3 years is doesn’t matter what you buy. If you want something that’s reliable and lasts, your best bet is the Tundra. The 4wd on the platinum is not meant for off roading. It’s there so you don’t get stuck in the snow quite as easily. It’s an on highway truck.

Are they making it with a V8? The reason I have a PU is to pull big stuff. I can pull my 30’ boat and trailer just fine with my 2-wheel drive, 2008, F-150 XLT with the 5 liter V8. I do have the towing package with transmission cooler and Over-Drive off button. It’s nothing fancy but it does the job and is still in great shape after 15 years of service, and I’ve pulled trailers all over the country with it. I would really like to replace it but I’m not buying a V6 and Ford has priced me out of the market.

This is what Walker the Texas Ranger would drive in 2023 but the Pro.
