In The Heretic Anthem, Corey sings "all the money in the world can't buy me". Turns out it didn't take anywhere near all the money in the world.

I feel like ever since losing Paul, SlipKnoT has lost sight of that brotherhood they had. 😢

Seeing my favorite band literally rot away like this is so painful....

They knew Jay ever since he was a child. He had connections with them through his father. After knowing him for over 20 years they kicked him over the phone and released a statement that they want to evolve and needs a more creative drummer. Thats brotherhood for ya!!

Sad to say but "you have become the very thing you swore to destroy" is the most fitting thing about this. Rip Paul, Rip Joey, you will forever be missed

Jay was a massive slipknot fan his whole life. He’s given us his blood and heart for this band for 10 years. All fir nothing… I truly thought jay would always be with them..

I never knew how much the band failed Paul Gray in his hour of need. That's so pathetic and despicable considering how, after the fact, they turned his death into so much marketing fodder, going as far as to include his name in the title of the 5th record. I knew the whole unity and brotherhood bit was a bunch of bs but that really puts things into perspective.

Knowing Joey and Paul both died alone like that is fucking heartbreaking 😔

Joey was the reason I started drumming. When I found out he was kicked from the band, I was so angry, and heart broken, and when I saw they found a replacement, I knew I was going to judge him harshly... But then I heard him play, and I saw him in the music video, and I didn't have a single bad thing to say. I was blown away by how cool he looked, how amazing his playing was, the energy he brought, everything about him was just... Awesome. I loved him, and accepted him into the band immediately. His sound on the kit was so unique to me, and I just fell in love with his style. I watched him play live 4 times with Slipknot, and everytime he was on stage, he was such a fucking beast. I felt his presence. The other day when I heard the news, my heart broke again the same way it did when I heard about Joey. I havent agreed with a lot of the people they parted ways with, but this was the final straw for me. Im so disappointed with this decision, and honestly after Craig too, I just look at this band so different. This video just reinforced my feelings about how ive felt like Slipknot is becoming more of a buisness than a band. Glad to know im not the only one whos noticed.

Joey, Paul, and Shawn started Slipknot and now Shawn and Corey have turned it into a franchise.

You put into words how I feel about them. They basically became the thing they were so against in the early days.

"One bandmate was playing golf just minutes away from Gray's intervention"
You can just say it was Chris, everyone can tell it was Chris lol

I went to see them last year in Seattle, and the whole thing felt like the Corey Taylor show. All the focus was on him. Between songs, it would be a focus on him with all the others kind of sitting in the back in the dark. It just kinda felt like it was a circus and he was the ringmaster. That was my 7th time seeing them, and I was so disappointed that I pretty much just lost all hope in the band. I was a late bloomer, but I got to see the original lineup when they went on tour with Deftones. That was such an amazing show!

You can’t be a band of brothers…without the band that holds it together

What the fuck! Jay loved that gig so much. That's so sad!

A director named Chad Calek made this documentary on Slipknot called A Clown Short of Destiny which shed light on some of the band's not-so-great dealings in Des Moines. It had a brief circulation at independent film festivals but hasn't been released since.

Paul’s gone. Joey’s gone. Chris was outed. Craig left the band. It’s not the same band anymore and it never will be. Even the new guys are expendable.

The maggots took ten years of “He’s never going to bet Joey!” Now we will have “He’s never going to be Jay” I’m sad for them, but I’m seeing the Slipknot Business isn’t even about music as much as profit and ego. Bands should not contract band members. Think of Queen. - they split writing credits as “written by Queen” no matter who wrote the song because they would not be Queen without each of them.

Wow, if the band had actually gone to Gray's intervention, he might still be alive..
