How To Apply an Asphalt Roof Coating

I have a very small building I'm renovating with two fiberglass (rolled) awnings out front. The awnings are custom size and color and would cost a lot to replace, and be a huge hassle to take off. I want to just use fibered asphalt roof coating on it after patching to seal and resurface it. I know this sort of stuff will stick and hold well because I've done my similar small awning at my house a decade ago and its still good. However, this only comes in black, and this place needs to be brown or it will look trashy. Is there any way to paint over it or color it?

can i still order these Asphalt Roof Coating or must i use lanco ultra siliconizer ?

what was the brush the fellow was using in the beginning?? Almost like a mop style brush

Something that works way better and gives you a better finish is a roller and a grid in a bucket like you are rolling out a wall
