Honestly, you should forget them altogether. If they initiated the breakup, the likelihood that they would do that again is extremely likely. It's like forcing yourself to drink spoiled milk. It's simply not worth it. Meet other people & gain new experiences. Again, forget they ever existed.

He never wanted no contact, I am sure he felt good having my validation, but he initiated most check ins, and was pretty engaging, even started sending me photos and videos. Then he texted me and I missed the txt cause I was on a hike in the evening with my friend and I did not see his txt till I was home and in bed. So I responded with that, saying I just got home and said I had gone hiking and was going to bed and goodnight. He replied, but said "long night for you" which was odd. Then he just said good night basically. I went to sleep so did not reply. But now its been 2 weeks and he has not reached out, he was texting like 1-2 times a week for like 6 weeks.

Did he get offended, or took that as in I am not interested? I agreed to give him some time to finalize his divorce, but not waiting around.
