I'm pretty excited about my new F-150 Lightning Flash. This is just the beginning and we'll see how she does over the long haul.

Bought a Lightning in 2022 and it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Just road tripped from Central Oregon to Los Angeles a week ago and love it.

take 5 minutes to fill my f250 and its about $70 to fill. $80 for 2 hours of charging is wild

Great update and upgrade truck. Coming from a Rivian owner with 45k on it.

My neighbor has over 50k miles on his now and absolutely loves it! The only issues he has had are it is terrible for long trips as some chargers take a crippling amount of time to charge (though he has driven KS to CA and back four times), and he hit a turkey and damaged a radiator and it took ages to get fixed as Ford aren’t big on spares supply for these. Enjoy!

I don’t think you will regret going electric. I have been electric for 5 years now & haven’t been to the garage once for something not working. Sometimes it’s a minor inconvenience being electric but nowhere near as bad as people make out.

Just upgraded our EV from 2022 Chevy Bolt to a 2024 Chevy Blazer RS. Love it!
Congrats on the new truck buddy!

Heading into 3rd year of ev ownership (model3) and love it. The only downside is the range carrying bikes is bad at highway speeds - and that’s only 100kph in NZ not like 70-80mph in some states.

I love Brian!!! Only guy who doesn’t lecture his audience…ever! I don’t know how he doesn’t do it, but almost 10yrs in, he’s still apolitical. Wow! (Even Seth lectures…a lot lately).

Love you, Bri! Hope to meet you one day…on hwy or trail

Brian this was awesome, reminds me of the good stuff about gimbals you did back in the day before the Hero 7. You're excellent with the critique, staying hydrated swapping tread...the last lines were classic! See you on the highway 🏁

Kudos Brian. I'm still nervous about full electric but I can definitely agree on the outlandish maintenance costs of gas! I''ll watch your journey with it and hope that you keep us posted on it's status.

Let us know the range when pulling a trailer...for science.

Enjoy the truck! Like a lot of new things, once you develop the skillset to use an EV effectively, travel is easy. Most of the negative comments you see will come from folks who haven't developed those skills yet and who focus on edge use cases. Driving on interstates and major highways across the country, now that Ford has access to Superchargers, is better by the day. Add to that new charging locations by other providers and things are really looking up. And EVs are crazy fun to drive!

I might be in the minority here, but I think there could be one big bonus that few have considered. After driving 250 to 300 miles, taking a twenty-minute break while recharging might be a very good thing. A few minutes to rest and recover could only be a good thing.

Excited for truck content! Show us what you do for bike transport and all the gear you carry in it! I ride moto and MTB so it’s nice to see what people carry in their trucks! Congrats!

can you also keep track of avoided costs from having the truck? like avoided fuel costs, avoided costs at ever stoke for charging things, avoided gas generator use at everstoke, and avoided purchases for more batteries at ever stoke, and how much you charge it for "free' at ever stoke from the solar pv?

Awsome move mate! I have sold all my ICE vehicled. Electric only. Its awsome even charging at 35c/kwh.

Watch out for the comments, old thinking will be super devicive. Most are sold ICE in advertising and have never even tried electric.
Remember who wins when you burn fuel... Not you or your pocket!

This was really interesting. The other side of the pond doesn’t get such generous mileage. Regardless of the comparative landmass. I think you should keep promoting tech that is relevant to your business and life. I’m massively interested. Plus you narrate the journey so well

Welcome to the EV club. Been an EV owner for 5 years, 100k miles and will never go back to ICE. No smog checks, no oil changes, no random fluid leaks. Only needed to change out the tires. Love having to never go to a gas station and charging on long trips goes quicker than you'd think.

I just bought a gas f150 2 months ago and love it and picked it because it has a 36 gallon fuel tank and can go 700ish miles highway if I didn’t tow I would of went with a lighting I’m interested on how long your tires will last. I’m excited for you
