1979 Honda CT90 carburetor or throttle cable problem?

I recently purchased this 1979 Honda CT90. It seems to have the original carburetor. It would crank and run but there was a hesitation when accelerating when changing gears. The tank was a little rusty. I could see rust in the inline filters so u decided I would clean & seal the tank, replace fuel lines & filters, and clean and rebuild the carburetor. With that all completed I read and studied online videos of how to adjust the carburetor. I am no mechanic just a DIY guy. I adjusted the air screw and the idle screw bot out 2 full turns. It cranked on first kick. I spent a lot of time making the adjustments per what I had learned. The problems I encountered were once warmed up good was when I tried to accelerate it would die. Sometimes it would accelerate up and when I let off the throttle would stick inside the top of
carburetor and engine stayed revved up. Disregard problem mentioned about the throttle cable accelerating when the handle bars were turned. You can see in the video the cable was under the crash bar. Its now on top so that is corrected. I'm just thinking there is a problem with the throttle cable. Any thoughts?

Looks like the throttle cable is stretch kind of tight. Try rerouting it over the skid plate support bar. Easy try.

Hey have you joined the Honda CT 90 owners group on Facebook? If you post this on that group they can help you out for sure. How’s your air filter? Sometimes when it’s not getting good oxygen it can bog down like that. Also is your battery good and charged up? Also sounds like The throttle slide inside the carb might be getting stuck.

Is that a stock carb? I had to buy an oem carb cap for my aftermarket carb. The metal wire guide on the cap was loose to the touch. Your cable rubber doesn’t have a red line in it so it makes me think it’s not oem?

I had this problem with mine too, , it has to do with how the throttle cable goes into the carb, , it is either to tight or to lose play with the adjustment screw in the carb cap, go one way and see if it helps if not go the other way, also there should be a little tab your throttle cable goes through on your frame by the forks when your cable is through that with the plastic cover on it will not high rev as much when you turn handle bars right my 90 and all my 110s do it. A little
