LIVE: Syrian Rebels Form Government As Israel Bombs Army Bases | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Three days after the rebel groups, led by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), took control of the capital Damascus, things seem to be slowly stabilising in Syria. With dictator President Bashar al-Assad ousted and Mohamed al-Bashir set to take over as the caretaker Prime Minister of the West Asian nation, Syrians are hoping for a fresh start. But the new government faces several challenges — both internal and external — in bringing stability in the country. Their biggest external challenge will prove to be Israel, which has reportedly already launched around 300 air strikes to neutralise arms and weapons depots in Syria, along with occupying a buffer zone in Syria's Golan Heights region. While HTS claims to have some "experience" in governance, given their control of the Idlib region; starting an internal political process will also be challenging for the new government, given the presence of other US and Türkiye backed militant groups in Syria. How will Syria manoeuvre through the turmoil, and how will its outcome affect peace and stability in the rest of the world? On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma breaks it down for you.
