VOX v845 & v847 Wah Pedals

when comparing non-trubypass wahs, which these are, the the tone of each will be affected by the tone loss that the other in the ( tonesuck ) off position causes.
best to use true bypass box for each for accurate representation.

just letting you guys know the v845 was the low end tweaked a little more, the v847 has the high end tweaked a little more

To my ear the 847 is a little quieter with a higher Q, whereas the 845 has a lower Q, allowing more mids through and increasing the overall output. I would say go with the 847 for funk and vintage sounds and the 845 for rock and metal.

On a circuitry level, it's literally a matter of two components, the 845 is missing q3 and c6 on the circuitry, add the right values to an 845 and you got an 847, likewise, remove those two on an 847 and you got an 845.

Wah pedals are for SHAFT. They are also very useful in the context of SHAFT. I hope to get a wah pedal sometime soon! I want to be able to make use of the sound of SHAFT.

it sounds like the 847 cuts higher and less lows
while the 845 gets a warm bassy and middy sound
i would probably go with the 845 though

I just bought an 845... I'd rather have the 847 but I'm poor lol. You have to hear the difference with distortion.

Idk how he gets such a nice tone with the v845, i play a les Paul through mine and it sounds like crap, i don't really know how to describe it but it sounds way too overdriven like almost squeaky, especially when used with an overdrive or distortion pedal.

I got the V847 second hand and its great!.. I like it a lot better than the cry baby I used to own and the wah on my Boss pedal
