Lower embodied energy than gasoline however due to stoicometric mixture of like 2 or 3 to 1 vs gasoline's 14.7:1 the NitroMethane mixture ends up delivering 3 to 4 times as much energy per impulse. Hench snap crackle pop pop pop zing!

On petrol, it’s quieter and higher pitched than on nitromethane. It changes to louder and lower pitched, deeper and rougher sounding.

gasoline is not compatible with nitromethane, it's most likely alcohol, which is run first to get the engine up to temp and then the fuel system is switched to nitro. I can't run on the street with nitro, do you see the size of that fuel tank? It wouldn't make it to the gas station. Also, slicks aren't legal in any state by DOT regulation.
