One of the things that I like most about A Link Between Worlds is the character writing regarding Lorule's counterparts to Link, Zelda, and Ganon, especially how the lack of a Triforce affects them. Ravio is Link without the courage to save the world himself, instead loaning his items out to a braver hero to fight in his stead. Hilda is Zelda without the wisdom to see the consequences of her plan or to see Yuga's untrustworthiness. Yuga is Ganondorf without the power to conquer Lorule himself, relying on manipulating and then betraying Hilda to get the power he needs instead of the raw might that Ganondorf can use. It's nothing special, but it is logically tied into the worldbuilding with Lorule being a mirror image of Hyrule with not just major characters but NPCs with counterparts between them, and the lack of a Triforce would mean that the main counterparts would lack their originals' key defining trait that ties them to a specific piece of the Triforce.

Appreciate all the hard work that has gone into your Zelda series. Such a touching end to this video. Sums up my feelings towards the games better than I ever could. Absolutely loved the line about how any zelda could be someone's favorite. Currently replaying the series as an adult and your channel has made it such an enriching experience.

If you're intimately familiar with ALttP, there are a few hints towards this twist, which I missed. His attire (a nod to Link's appearance when he first enters the Dark World), the fact that he has all those "dungeon" items. He moves into YOUR house and the house in the exact same spot in Lorule is vacant. I even connected the dots that that was Ravio's house. But what that all meant never occurred to me lol

Another thing about the fact that Ravio is the Lorulian version of Link; If you bomb the other side of the abandoned house, you'll end up on the other side of the room which is at first inaccessible. Not only does it contain a bottle, but it also contained a dairy with the mark of his shop, alongside his details to leave Lorule to seek help.

Crazy how this was a 40$ game when the Links awakening remake 60$. Link between worlds had so much more content!

It was touching how Ravio still managed to be an embodiment of the spirit of the hero. In light of Hilda's scheme, Ravio felt compelled to act despite his cowardice and the fact that he could directly benefit from stealing Hyrule's Triforce. If I am not mistaken, he was the only resident of Lorule willing to do the "right thing." (edit: besides Thief Girl, kinda)

This is _by far_ my favorite "2D" Zelda. By a wide margin, even.
Just as Breath of the Wild is my favorite 3D Zelda.
Really goes to show how much the franchise evolved, and how naturally their philosophy of true freedom suits Zelda games.

I had a really strong feeling Ravio was an alternate Link simply because Link's Dark form from LttP was a pink bunny, and what does Ravio wear? A purple bunny costume. And he also knew EXACTLY where your house was.

3DS cutscene's are just so charming. To me they have that same 6th generation game charm. They are above N64 territory where you really have to actively suspend your disbelief that they are characters and not just groups of polygons but they also don't have any uncanny realism to them like you see in most HD games.
